For the last 11 years, Antonia has worked as a paediatric nurse. She often came home with sore, cracked and bleeding hands as a result of the constant hand washing needed to keep her patients infection free. In fact, in 2011 this became so bad that she was forced to take a week off work.
After suffering so much discomfort and learning that this problem affects nearly all nurses, she teamed up with her husband Jonny and started working on a hand cream formula that was effective, natural, free from nasty chemicals and something nurses could use repeatedly throughout a busy shift. Over the last 7 years they have been working with a group of British nurses, laboratories and Newcastle Science City to create a range of naturally protective skincare formulas for all hard working hands.
Together, they're on a mission - to make sure that every nurse and midwife in the country gets Nursem for free and at the same time to help all other hard working hands in need. So we promise that for every product sold we will give a month’s worth of free Nursem to a nurse or a midwife. This is the Nursem Promise - and it is just the beginning of our mission to care for those who care for us.
Backed by our community
In 2018, we ran a successful Crowdfunder campaign thanks to an incredible community of supporters. This allowed us to help the hands of over 3,000 nurses and funded our first mass production run to launch the business.
Formulated for ALL hardworking hands
While the brand was born with the aim of helping the hardest of hard working hands, nurses and midwives, our formulas are fantastic at soothing, hydrating and protecting all dry and sore skin. Anyone from mums to gardeners, hairdressers to mechanics or florists to carpenters.
Results we stand by
Every Nursem product undergoes clinical safety testing and rigorous user trials to ensure our formulas are suitable for normal through to sensitive and irritated skin. More importantly they are reviewed and approved by an independent user panel made up of the most discerning individuals.
